I. Care & Storage
-
Fish do not break rods, people do.
-
Never store your bamboo rod in a closed automobile trunk
in the summer time.
-
Avoid angling for fish entirely too big for your bamboo rod.
-
Do not troll with your fly rod.
-
Do not tie the bamboo rod cloth bag tight with any material.
-
Always assemble and disassemble your bamboo rod yourself.
-
Use a different rod tip each day.
-
Prior to going fishing, assemble the rod after everything else
has been done.
-
Immediately after returning from fishing, disassemble your
rod yourself and before you do anything else.
-
Never store your rod when it is wet.
II. Removing Rod from
Tube
-
Unscrew tube and place cap in secure place.
-
Funnel your hand around the metal rod case mouth to keep the
rod from scraping the edge of the tube while it it being removed.
-
Always remove the entire cloth bag from the rod tube before
any rod segment is removed.
-
Remove the wood ferrule plug from female ferrule. Leave it
connected to the cloth bag.
-
Remove butt section first, and place it on a flat area out of
the way.
-
Use a clean cotton swab to swab out the female ferrule.
-
Remove a bamboo tip, wipe male ferrule with clean cotton cloth.
-
Use no grease, no body oil, and no candle wax, nothing, for
lubrication.
III. Assembling Bamboo
Rod Pieces
-
On a flat surface, line up snake guides and press pieces together
until the complete male ferrule is all the way into the female ferrule.
-
If the pieces are not lining up correctly, pull the pieces apart and
realign them.
-
Never twist a bamboo rod to line up the guides. This could cause
serious damage to your fine rod.
