  I.  Care & Storage
  1. Fish do not break rods, people do. 
  2. Never store your bamboo rod in a closed automobile trunk 

  3. in the summer time.
  4. Avoid angling for fish entirely too big for your bamboo rod.
  5. Do not troll with your fly rod.
  6. Do not tie the bamboo rod cloth bag tight with any material.
  7. Always assemble and disassemble your bamboo rod yourself.
  8. Use a different rod tip each day.
  9. Prior to going fishing, assemble the rod after everything else

  10. has been done.
  11. Immediately after returning from fishing, disassemble your 

  12. rod yourself and before you do anything else.
  13. Never store your rod when it is wet.
  II.  Removing Rod from Tube
  1. Unscrew tube and place cap in secure place. 
  2. Funnel your hand around the metal rod case mouth to keep the 

  3. rod from scraping the edge of the tube while it it being removed.
  4. Always remove the entire cloth bag from the rod tube before 

  5. any rod segment is removed.
  6. Remove the wood ferrule plug from female ferrule. Leave it 

  7. connected to the cloth bag.
  8.  Remove butt section first, and place it on a flat area out of 

  9. the way.
  10. Use a clean cotton swab to swab out the female ferrule. 
  11. Remove a bamboo tip, wipe male ferrule with clean cotton cloth. 
  12. Use no grease, no body oil, and no candle wax, nothing, for 

  13. lubrication.
  III.  Assembling Bamboo Rod Pieces
  1. On a flat surface, line up snake guides and press pieces together 

  2. until the complete male ferrule is all the way into the female ferrule. 
  3. If the pieces are not lining up correctly, pull the pieces apart and 

  4. realign them.
  5. Never twist a bamboo rod to line up the guides.  This could cause 

  6. serious damage to your fine rod.
